This intake boot connects your carburettor or throttle body directly to the reed valve assembly. It is a critical component for maintaining a vacuum-tight seal in the intake tract. Rubber boots eventually perish, crack, or delaminate due to heat cycles and fuel exposure. A leaking boot causes lean running and erratic idling, which can lead to engine seizure.
