Side-to-side rim play or a dry grinding noise means the rear hub bearings are done. Pressure washing and rutted lines push water past tired seals; the grease washes out and the races pit. This kit drops in fresh bearings and seals to lock the hub back up. Clean the hub bore before fitting — any old grit will chew a new bearing in a weekend. Pull the old units with a proper blind-bearing puller, not a drift through the spacer. Line the internal spacer up before you seat the second bearing, or the wheel will bind on the axle.
