Front-end vague? Bars that won't centre, or a notch you can feel through the grips at dead-ahead? That's the steering head. Brinelled races, dry rollers, water past the seals. Pull the top yoke, drop the lower, press the old races out. New bearings, new seals, pack them properly with marine-grade grease before they go in. Torque the stem nut to Honda spec, then knock it back a touch so the bars sweep under their own weight with no drag. Done right, the front wheel tracks where you point it through braking bumps and rutted corners.
