These springs are stiffer than the factory components to handle the increased torque of a tuned engine. They increase the clamping force on the plate stack, preventing high-RPM slip. This is essential for race starts and heavy-load scenarios on track. The firmer spring rate also provides a more positive lever return. Replace your old springs if they have shrunk below the service limit specified in your manual. Install them in a criss-cross pattern to seat the pressure plate evenly. This prevents uneven wear on the friction material and ensures a clean release.
