The high-revving nature of the small-bore engine causes the plate tabs to hammer the housing fingers. This machined alloy unit is far more resistant to that damage than the factory cast version. You will need to move the primary gear from your old assembly to this one. It provides a more consistent lever feel for the rider. Check for any play in the gear cushions during the swap.
