What it is

The PROX CLUTCH CABLE YZF250/450, motocross part. Stocked by Iron Offroad, the UK MX hard parts specialist.

A clutch cable for the four-stroke Yamaha range: WR 250 F, YZ 250 F, YZ 250 FX, YZ 450 F and YZ 450 FX. Runs from the perch to the actuator arm on the cases. Old cables stretch and the inner liner picks up grit, so the lever goes heavy and the bite point wanders. A fresh one brings back a light pull and a clear point of engagement. Route it clean through the frame and away from anything hot before you nip the adjuster. Check the year against your bike first.
