It provides the precise stack height necessary for the hydraulic slave cylinder to operate within its intended range. The friction material is selected to provide a consistent feel from the start of the moto to the finish. Steel plates are precision-ground to prevent heat-induced warping. If you are experiencing clutch fade during long sessions, replacing the full stack is the standard fix. Inspect the clutch lifter and pressure plate for wear.
