Leaks usually occur when dirt bypasses the dust wiper or when the stanchion suffers a stone chip. A weeping seal will contaminate your brake pads and ruin damping consistency. These are manufactured to exact OEM tolerances for reliable performance under race conditions. Always inspect your stanchions for burrs before installation. Use a seal bullet to protect the delicate inner lip as you slide the seal over the fork tube.
