What it is

The PROX PISTON KIT ALUMINUM 48.47MM C, motocross part. Stocked by Iron Offroad, the UK MX hard parts specialist.

A 48.47mm C-grade cast piston for the KX 85, cross-referencing Kawasaki part 13001-1580. An 85 two-stroke revs harder for its size than anything else on the track, and compression falls away fast once the rings wear in. Piston, rings, wrist pin and circlips all come in the kit. Check your bore against the grade letter and service limit before fitting. Clearance on a small bore is unforgiving, and a plated cylinder past its limit needs replating, not a bigger piston.
