It sits in the top-end, restoring the compression lost as the original piston wears down. Regular replacement prevents the piston from rocking, which protects the cylinder plating from damage. Deglaze the bore before fitting to help the new rings seat properly. This kit includes the aluminium piston, rings, gudgeon pin, and circlips. Ensure the ring gaps are positioned correctly according to the workshop manual to maintain an effective seal and prevent blow-by.
