Showa's 48mm twin-chamber unit is the production fork on the CRF 250 R for a reason — separate oil and air sides keep damping consistent lap after lap, but it punishes neglect. Fork oil shears, the slider coating polishes off the bushings, and the dust seal starts pumping grit past the oil seal. The kit covers what you replace at a full strip: oil and dust seals, inner and outer bushings, washers. Pair it with fresh Showa SS8 fluid at the spec level. Inspect stanchions for nicks under a fingernail before reassembly. A scored tube will eat new seals in a weekend.
