What it is

The SHOWA SLIDE BUSH C 39x41x4.8mm, motocross part. Stocked by Iron Offroad, the UK MX hard parts specialist.

Slide bushes are the bearing surface between the outer tube and the cartridge. The C-position 39x41x4.8mm size is the lower bush in late-model Showa SFF-Air and coil-spring forks fitted to CRF250/450, KX250/450 and RM-Z450. Replace in pairs whenever you split the fork. Worn bushes show up as stiction, copper bleed-through on the Teflon coating, or a fork that won't hold height. Drift the old one out, freeze the new one for fifteen minutes, and it walks into the leg without buggering the coating. Pair with fresh seals and you're set for another season of moto starts.
