What it is

The TWIN AIR OIL FILTER CAP ALUMINUM, cooling. Stocked by Iron Offroad, the UK MX hard parts specialist.

The aluminium oil filter cover for the Honda CRF 450 R. Machined fins add surface area, so the cap acts as a heat sink and sheds oil temperature the cast factory part traps. It replaces the standard cover bolt-for-bolt over the filter housing. Seat the O-ring properly in its groove and torque to Honda's figure on fitting. It takes a roost strike and a heat cycle far better than the original. The 450 thumper runs hot when you lean on it through motos and sand, and a few degrees off the oil is a few degrees the bottom end never has to manage.
