North East Motocross Club

Founded in 1968, ACU-affiliated, two main venues: Wooley Grange near Stanley Crook (DL15 9AN, County Durham) and PJMX off the A189 between Blyth and Ashington (NE22 7DD, Northumberland). The two grounds bracket the regional terrain. Wooley Grange is dark loam — grips after rain rather than greasing off, which kept it in regular club use for decades. PJMX is harder pack, exposed to coast weather, and rides faster and drier than the Durham end.

The original website at nemxc.org.uk lapsed in 2018-2019 and the domain sat empty for years. The last verifiable open meeting under the club’s name was Wooley Grange in October 2022. Nothing since — no fixture list, no open entries, no formal restart.

The Facebook group is the surviving channel — roughly 8,000 members, still active. It works as a community archive: paddock photos, questions about old contacts, intel on which North East venues are running which weekend.
