Read about PJMX Race Club →

PJMX is the working centre of motocross in Northumberland. The track sits off the A189 between Blyth and Ashington, hardpack surface, exposed to the coast — it rides faster and drier than the County Durham circuits inland. Open practice runs through most of the year; race meetings are listed on the club Facebook group, which is the live channel for entries, weather calls, and last-minute schedule changes.

The riding scene here is mixed adult MX plus a strong youth side — the Auto and 65cc classes get their own gates and rolling start groups on race weekends. Bring British weather kit. The track drains hard but the wind off the coast is its own thing.

Catalogue cover for North East regulars: top-end rebuild stock for the four-stroke majority, fork seals for the hardpack pounding, chains and sprockets at frequent change intervals, plastics for the inevitable contact-and-go.
