This direct replacement for OEM part 5NL1118100 seals the critical junction between the cylinder and the head. It maintains the compression seal while keeping coolant and oil in their respective galleries. These are single-use items that crush to fit during the initial torque sequence. Reusing one almost guarantees a failure under race conditions. This component is engineered to withstand the extreme combustion temperatures of high-revving engines. Ensure the cylinder deck and head surface are free of old material and debris before fitting. Tighten your head bolts in the specified pattern to avoid warping.
