What it is

The ATHENA FORK OIL SEAL 37X48X12.5, motocross part. Stocked by Iron Offroad, the UK MX hard parts specialist.

Strange one this. Same 37x48x12.5 seal lives in the forks of an early CR 125R two-stroke moto bike and an original GL 1000K touring barge. Different worlds, identical seal pocket. Athena make it in proper nitrile, sized to sit in a 37mm leg with a 48mm OD and 12.5mm depth. Replace in pairs even though you're only buying one here, and do the dust seal at the same time while the forks are apart. Check the lower bush for scoring before you button it back up, otherwise the new seal weeps inside a weekend. Clean fork oil, torque the cap properly, job done.
