What it is

The ATHENA VALVE STEM SEAL KIT, motocross part. Stocked by Iron Offroad, the UK MX hard parts specialist.

These seals sit on the valve guides inside the cylinder head. They control the lubrication of the valve stem while preventing oil from leaking into the combustion chamber. Hardened or cracked seals cause blue smoke on startup and carbon buildup on your valves. Replace these whenever you have the head off for a service or a top-end rebuild. They are precision-moulded to withstand extreme temperatures. Use a dedicated seal driver to seat them correctly without tearing the rubber or damaging the guide.
