Boyesen pro series carbon fibre reed petal to fit Yamaha YZ125 (2005–2027); Yamaha YZ125X (2020–2027).
These petals are critical for maintaining primary compression in your two-stroke engine. They sit inside the reed cage and act as one-way valves for the fuel-air mixture. Over time, petals lose their tension or begin to fray at the edges, leading to hard starting and a muddy throttle feel. Inspect these every time you have the top-end apart for a piston change. These dual-stage versions offer a quicker response than standard single-thickness petals. Ensure the cage mating surface is perfectly clean before installation to prevent air gaps.
