These carbon fibre petals replace your worn factory reeds to restore crisp throttle response. They sit inside the reed cage between the carburettor and the cylinder. Carbon material offers a quicker reaction time than standard fibreglass, helping the engine pick up revs faster. Inspect these during every top-end rebuild for signs of chipping or fraying at the edges. Gaps between the petal and the cage will cause poor starting and erratic idling. These are a specific fit for your bike's intake tract. Ensure the cage surfaces are clean before installation to achieve a perfect seal.
