These cork-based friction plates are a standard-spec replacement for your bike. They offer a smooth, predictable engagement for general MX and trail use. Friction plates are a consumable item that wears thin or burns during heavy use. If your lever play is constantly changing, it is time for a refresh. Soak the plates in engine oil for at least four hours before installation. This prevents dry starts and glazing. Check your steel plates for blueing or warping to ensure the new pack performs correctly.
