These cork-based friction plates restore drive engagement when your current set starts to slip. They are designed to match the friction characteristics of the original factory parts. Heat cycles eventually harden the friction material, reducing its ability to grip the steel plates. This kit provides a fresh surface for consistent lever feel. Inspect your clutch basket for grooving while the side casing is off. Deep notches in the basket will prevent these new plates from sliding freely. Soak the plates in gearbox oil for several hours before you bolt the pressure plate back down.
