What it is

These steel coil springs provide the clamping force required to keep your clutch pack engaged under load. They sit behind the pressure plate inside the clutch basket. Over time, heat cycles cause OEM springs to fatigue and lose their free length. This leads to clutch slip and premature wear of your friction plates. Replacing them is standard practice during any transmission service or clutch rebuild. These are wound from high-carbon steel to resist heat fade. Ensure you torque the pressure plate bolts to the correct OEM specification in a criss-cross pattern to prevent binding or uneven plate pressure.
