This cable is a direct fit for bikes requiring OEM part 54011-1389. It connects the handlebar lever to the clutch actuator on the crankcase. Regular use in muddy conditions causes grit to enter the housing, which ruins the smooth glide of the inner wire. Replacing the cable eliminates the heavy pull that causes forearm fatigue. Route the new line carefully through the frame to avoid heat damage from the engine. Set your lever free-play according to the workshop manual to ensure clean shifts. This is a vital component for maintaining control during technical riding.
