What it is

This throttle cable is cut for the Yamaha 250 four-strokes, fitting the YZ 250 F, YZ 250 FX, YZ 250 X and WR 250 F. It joins the throttle tube to the throttle body and carries every input down the frame. A worn or contaminated inner drags and frays, blunting the crisp return these motors want. Replace it at service before it binds on the trail. Work some lube into the inner first, then route it clear so it cannot snag when the bars are at full lock. Correct free play keeps the throttle returning sharp and stops it hanging open in the rough.
