What it is

Fork bushings are the low-rent hero of any fork rebuild. They line the gap between the inner stanchion and outer leg, and once the PTFE coating wears through to copper the front end starts to feel notchy at the top of the stroke and vague through mid-stroke. Replace them every time you split the legs for seals; old bushings will chew the new oil seals inside a weekend. KX 125 M, KX 250 and KX 250 F covered. Press them in with a proper bushing driver, and clean the legs spotless before reassembly so grit does not score the new sliding surface.
