Service kit for the XR 400 R front end. The inner and outer bushings ride between the stanchion and slider, carrying the side load while the oil and seals do the damping. Once the Teflon coating glazes or wears through to the brass, you get stiction off the top of the stroke and a vague feel mid-corner. Standard practice during any fork seal swap on a Showa cartridge fork: bushings, seals, dust wipers, fresh oil. Cross-references to the OEM part. Clean the stanchions and inspect for pitting before you seat the new bushings with a proper driver.
