This spring sits on the rear shock body to support the combined weight of the bike and rider. Standard springs are often too soft or too firm for specific rider weights. Swapping the coil is the only way to achieve correct race sag on your SX 85. This ensures the bike sits at the right height for optimal steering geometry. Use a spring compressor for a safe installation on the shock body. It is a direct replacement for the OEM part. Correcting the spring rate prevents the shock from blowing through its stroke on jump landings.
