The XR dual-sport and desert range runs a 21-inch front, and this is the full stainless set — not the CR/CRF variant. Stainless holds up better than chrome-plated mild steel in sustained wet and mud exposure, which XR riders tend to see more of than MX riders. Nipples corrode before spokes fail on most seized sets; replacing both together at rebuild is the correct approach. Tension progressively in a star pattern, checking runout frequently — rushing this step introduces a wobble that worsens under load. Torque to spec; over-tightening cracks the nipple seat at the rim.
