What it is

Pull the top yoke on a thirty-year-old GPZ or EN and you'll usually find the original stem bearings bone dry, the races pitted from a decade of motorway miles loading the headstock straight down. Moose's stem kit gives you fresh tapered rollers, new races, seals and the dust cover, so the front end tracks clean again under braking and on long sweepers. Pack the bearings with decent waterproof grease before you tap the races home, torque the stem nut to the workshop manual figure, then back it off and re-set. Job's done for another hundred thousand miles.
