§ 02 / About this part
What it is
The Moose Offroad STEERING STEM BEARING KIT, motocross part. Stocked by Iron Offroad, the UK MX hard parts specialist.
Steering head bearings take a beating every time you case a jump or wheelie out of a rut, and they let you know about it. You'll feel a notch through the bars when you're pointed straight, the front end wants to settle dead-ahead on its own, and slow turns get vague. That's the races pitted from years of hammer. This kit gets you both bearings, both races and the dust seals in one box, so you strip the front end once and rebuild it properly. Pack the rollers with decent waterproof grease, drift the old races out clean, seat the new ones square, and torque the stem nut to spec before you drop the bars back on. Steering goes back to silk, the front wheel tracks where you point it, and the headstock stays sealed against the next wet practice day. Cheap insurance against vague steering on a bike that's earned its hours.
