What it is

A throttle cable for the Kawasaki KX 250 F and KX 450 F, cross-referencing OEM 54012-0579 and 54012-0591. It joins the twist grip to the engine, and like every cable it wears with each ride as grit and water creep into the housing and bind the inner wire. This drops straight in for the worn factory part. Route it well away from the exhaust so heat doesn't cook the outer, then set the free play at the adjuster. A clean, predictable throttle is what lets you meter traction when the ground turns slick.
