Cross-references Kawasaki OEM 54012-0245 and 54012-0286, cut to the same length and fitted with matching barrel ends for the KX 250 F and KX 450 F. The inner wire frays and the outer casing splits with age, and the result is a heavy pull or a throttle that hangs open. Neither is something you want at full lean. Route it through the original guides so it can't pinch at the headstock. Set the free play at the perch adjuster, then turn the bars lock to lock and confirm the throttle snaps shut from every position before you ride.
