What it is

Moose Offroad throttle cables to fit Yamaha IT175 (1977–1979); Yamaha IT250 (1977–1980); Yamaha IT400 (1979); Yamaha IT425 (1980); Yamaha YZ125 (1977–1979); Yamaha YZ250 (1977–1980); Yamaha YZ400 (1979); Yamaha YZ465 (1980).

The cable that ties the twist grip to the carb slide. On the old air-cooled YZ and IT singles, the original outers go stiff and the inner wire frays where it runs past the steering head, so snap-back gets lazy and the throttle starts to hang. This is a straight swap for the Yamaha part it replaces, cross-referencing 1W6-26311-01-00 and 2K8-26311-01-00. Route it clear of the frame and check free play at the perch before you kick it over. A clean cable gives you back a crisp shut on the gate.
