What it is

Moose Offroad wheel bearing and seal kit to fit Yamaha IT250 (1981–1983); Yamaha IT465 (1981–1982); Yamaha IT490 (1983–1984); Yamaha TT350 (1986–1987); Yamaha TT600 (1983–1986); Yamaha YZ250 (1981, 1983–1987); Yamaha YZ465 (1981); Yamaha YZ490 (1982–1990).

Complete wheel bearing and seal set for the listed Yamaha air-cooled twin-shock and YZ models. Hub bearings take a constant beating from landings and cornering loads. Once a seal lips up, grit gets past and the races pit in a couple of rides. Check for side-to-side play at every tyre change. Press the new bearings in dead square to the hub bore, drift on the outer race only, never the inner. A smear of waterproof grease on the outer face eases the press fit and seals the joint. Fits front and rear depending on machine — verify your hub spec against the kit contents before stripping the wheel.
