What it is

The Moose Offroad WHEEL SPACER STEEL FRONT YAMAHA, motocross part. Stocked by Iron Offroad, the UK MX hard parts specialist.

Older-spec YZ kit, this one. Fits the YZ 125 and YZ 250 two-strokes, plus the early thumpers — YZ 250F, YZ 400F and YZ 426F before the 2003 redesign. Steel, not alloy, so it shrugs off the abuse a front hub takes on rutted starts and braking bumps. Slot it on the axle inboard of the wheel bearing, square the wheel up, torque the axle pinch bolts and you're done. Worth swapping in pairs if the old one's grooved or the seal lip's chewed. Keep a spare in the toolbox — they walk off when you're stripping a wheel trackside.
