This clutch cable links your perch to the actuator arm on the engine casing. It replaces OEM part 54011-0040 with exact dimensions for a drop-in fit. Cables eventually stretch or fray at the barrel ends from repeated use and grit ingress. A heavy lever pull usually signals the inner wire is binding within the housing. Replace it to restore a light, predictable feel at the lever. Route the new line along the factory path to avoid exhaust heat and kinking at full lock. Check your free-play adjustment at the perch after the first ride.
