This pin secures your pads within the caliper body. Over time, the pad backing plates wear deep grooves into the pin surface. This causes the pads to hang up, leading to uneven wear and poor lever feel. Salt and grit also seize the threads or round off the internal hex. Replacing this during a pad change ensures smooth sliding action and consistent braking. Apply a small amount of anti-seize to the threads before installation. This is a direct OEM replacement designed to match factory dimensions.
