What it is

The POLISPORT FORTRESS SKID PLATE BK, motocross part. Stocked by Iron Offroad, the UK MX hard parts specialist.

The Fortress is a one-piece high-impact plastic skid plate built for the 250/300 two-stroke TPI platform. It wraps the lower frame rails and shields the cases from rock strikes and log crossings, and the moulded face slides over obstacles instead of catching like an alloy plate. Quieter, too: the plastic damps engine drumming a metal sump guard amplifies. Sized for the KTM SX/XC and Husqvarna TC/TE/TX frame, with the EXC and XC-W enduro variants covered. Align the mounting brackets on the first fit and it sits rattle-free.
