What it is

The POLISPORT IGNITION COVER FOR YAMAHA YZF450 BLACK, motocross part. Stocked by Iron Offroad, the UK MX hard parts specialist.

Polisport ignition cover guard for the Yamaha YZ 450 F, YZ 450 FX and WR 450 F. It bolts over the left-side stator casing, which on a 450 is a thin casting that cracks easily in a ruts-and-rocks crash. The guard takes the roost and the rock strike so the OEM case stays sealed. Boot rub is the slower killer; this stops the casting wearing through over a season. Mounts to the existing bolt holes, adds almost no width, and clears your foot position. Clean the mating face first so no grit scores the cover.
