The shock flap is your primary defence against mud and stones thrown directly from the rear tyre into the shock shaft and linkage. A split or missing flap leads to premature seal failure and pitting on the shock rod. This part sits behind the airbox and hangs over the swingarm pivot. It is a simple but essential consumable for any enduro or MX bike. Check it during every wash and replace it if the rubber has perished or the mounting holes have pulled through. It keeps the rear end functioning smoothly.
