These drive plates provide the mating surface for your friction discs. They sit on the inner hub and transfer power to the transmission. Overheating causes these plates to warp or discolour. Warped plates lead to clutch drag and neutral-finding issues. This set replaces your worn originals to ensure a flat, true surface across the entire stack. Check them against a glass plate for flatness during your rebuild. Replacing steels alongside frictions ensures even wear and consistent lever pressure.
