What it is
The PROX STEERING BEARING KIT CR85/CRF1, motocross part. Stocked by Iron Offroad, the UK MX hard parts specialist.
Tapered roller set for the head stock, covering small-bore Honda four-strokes and two-strokes from the CR80/85 up through the CRF110/125/150/250/300 L trail line, plus XR250/400/600 and a couple of Fantic crossovers. Heavy landings, jet-wash water and grit kill the OEM caged-ball bearings — you'll feel it as a detent dead-ahead and vague turn-in. Kit ships with upper and lower tapered races and dust seals. Drift the old races out clean, pack the new ones with marine-grade waterproof grease before pressing, and torque the stem nut to factory spec so the forks fall under their own weight with no slop.
