Tapered roller set for the steering head, top and bottom, plus dust seals. The OE ball-and-cage assemblies on the YZ125/250 and the KX/KX-F/RM-Z platforms it shares with go notchy fast — sand ingress through the tinware, repeated case-deep landings, and the rollers brinell into the races. You feel it as a vague centre when you point the bike at a rut. Tapered rollers handle the axial load far better than the OE balls. Drive the old races out with a long drift, clean the head tube, pack the new bearings with waterproof grease before pressing in. Re-torque after the first ride.
