Maintaining precise valve clearances is critical for engine health and starting performance. These shims sit inside the cylinder head between the cam and the valve bucket to set the lash. Over time, valves stretch and seats wear, causing clearances to tighten and leading to hard starting or poor idling. This set contains five units of a specific thickness for targeted adjustment during your service interval. Use a micrometer to verify the thickness before installation. Ensure no parts fall into the cam chain tunnel during the swap. These are standard fitment for most Japanese 250cc four-stroke engines.
