These organic friction plates are the primary wear items within your clutch stack. They sit between the steel drive plates to transfer engine torque to the transmission. Heat and heavy use eventually glaze the friction material or wear it below service limits. This leads to clutch slip and a soft lever feel. These plates provide a smooth, predictable take-up for trail and track use. Always soak new friction plates in fresh engine or gear oil for several hours before fitting. Check your steel plates for warping or blueing while the assembly is apart to ensure a complete repair.
