Tear a fork down often enough and you learn which bits keep the cartridge honest. This is the Showa B-spec packing for the CRF 250 fork internals, the soft seal that lives inside the cartridge, not on the slider. Fit it when you split the fork for an oil change and the old one looks glazed, nicked, or has gone hard. Skip it and you get spongy mid-stroke and a fork that loses its damping curve halfway through a moto. Also fits the listed KX-F, RM-Z 250 and RM-Z 450 forks running the same Showa internals. Order it with fresh fork oil and a seal kit so the bench job is one trip, not three.
