These plates sit between the frictions to complete the pack. They are essential for heat dissipation and maintaining a flat surface for engagement. Heat cycles eventually warp these plates or cause blueing, which leads to drag and inconsistent lever feel. Check for flatness on a glass pane during your rebuild. If they are discoloured or notched, replace the full set to ensure even pressure across the stack. These are manufactured to OEM dimensions for a direct drop-in fit. Ensure the sharp edge of the stamped plates faces the correct direction during assembly.
