What it is

This filter sits in the tank neck and catches grit before it ever reaches the fuel. First line of defence on a paddock or trailside fill, which is exactly where silt and dust get in. On the fuel-injected Yamahas it fits, the WR 250 F, WR 450 F, YZ 250 F and YZ 450 F, that protection earns its keep: the internal pump and injectors don't tolerate fine contamination. The mesh flows freely, so it won't drag out a quick splash-and-dash. Pull it now and then, clear anything trapped, refit. Far cheaper than a clogged injector.
