What it is

Vertex's lower-end rebuild for the KTM 85 SX, both the 17/14 and 19/16 wheel variants. You get a complete crankshaft with rod fitted, main bearings, crank seals and the gaskets needed to split and reseal the cases. A complete crank beats a rod kit for most home builds: no press work, no truing, just fit and go. On a raced 85 SX the sensible schedule is a bottom end every second top-end, because a failed big-end at peak rpm rarely stops at the crank. Measure runout on installation and prime the mains with two-stroke oil before first start.
